Kids Cafe - Summer Lunch

| The
kickoff event was a great success and the kids enjoyed
their sandwiches, salads and wraps.

Summer means no school, but it
might also mean no free/reduced lunch for eligible children in our service
area. To help fill the gap, we offer a Summer Lunch
Program, funded by the USDA Summer Food Service
Program. Sites involved in this program serve breakfast,
lunch, and/or snacks to children in their community. The
communities where the sites are located have at least 50% or
more of families who are eligible for free or reduced lunch
at school. |
| In the summer of
2007, we operated 25 sites in Alabama and 3 sites in Mississippi.
Over 22,000 meals were served!! |
