Food Insecurity According
to a USDA study, 13.5 households in America were food insecure in
2004. This means that the members of this household were not
sure where they will get their next meal. This number
represents 11.5% of the population. Out of those households,
the USDA classified 4.4 million of them as "hungry," which
is a very severe form of food insecurity. The
Food Research and Action Center has a wealth of information about
food insecurity. To read their reports on hunger, food
