Guest Speaker: Dr. Ayanava Majumdar
Dr. A will discuss his research on organic Alabama farms and the success of using insect-barrier tents and trap crops. Participants will get a chance to build an insect barrier tent and plant sorghum as a trap crop.
Fruit Tree Workshop

As part of our 2014 Spring Gardening Series, Extension Agents James Miles and Ellen Huckabay will explain the right way to plant fruit trees and care for them throughout the year. Participants will help plant one dozen trees: Satsumas, Figs and Grapefruit. Click

Festival of Flowers
March 20 - 23, 2014
Bay Area Food Bank will partner with the Festival of Flowers to help in the children’s venue for the second year in a row to teach children about growing produce, caring for their environment, and the importance of making healthy food choices. This year’s festival will take place on the Providence Hospital Campus. Check back for more information as the event gets closer.
