Art That Feeds Presented by Conscious Alliance at The Hangout Music Festival

Friday - Sunday, May 17 - 19, 2013

All patrons who donate 20 nonperishable food items will receive a FREE oversized Hangout Music Festival poster created by Christian Jaxtheimer. Food donations will be collected at one of the Conscious Alliance ‘Art That Feeds’ Galleries which will be listed on the Hangout Festival guide and map. Conscious Alliance always encourages food donations to be low-sodium and health oriented products. Organic food donations are especially encouraged. Ramen Noodles will NOT be accepted for the free poster. 

Hunger Study Stuff the Trucks

Saturday, May 18, 2013, 9 a.m. - 1 p.m.

The food bank will be holding two simultaneous Stuff the Truck events to collect $5 food bags for the Hunger in America Study. The study aims to create a snapshot of hunger in the U.S. that can be used to develop programs and inform advocacy work and public policy discourse. The $5 food bags, which can be purchased at the select Belle Foods locations during the event, contain most needed, nonperishable items and will be distributed to clients in exchange for completion of the survey. To donate, visit one of the two locations below on Saturday, May 18 between the hours of 9 am and 1 pm and tell a cashier you'd like to purchase a food bag.

Duel on Dauphin

Saturday, May 25, 2013, 11 a.m. - 2 p.m. (Judging at 2 p.m.)

Join us for the 5th Annual Duel on Dauphin Crawfish Cook Off and enjoy crawfish from your favorite downtown Mobile venues as they attempt to prove their crawfish boil recipe is the best in downtown Mobile! Admission is $10 or a donation of 10 nonperishable food items. Last year, the event raised almost $3,000 and collected over 1,000 pounds of food for the food bank.
